Wanting to Tint Windows

So I'm wanting to tint the windows in my car but I'm not sure where to look for quality tint. Don't want anything crappy from canadian tire and checked Lordco in richmond to find nothing. Anyone here tint windows for themselves and if yes, where did you get your tint?

ilvtofu 06-14-2009 02:16 PM

N-Motion

I'm also thinking of doing some tinting. Any other places ppl know of to buy good quality tint?

High quality tinting;

http://www.tintcentre.ca/

Had my 335i done from Kristyn last month, amazing job.

ilvtofu 06-14-2009 04:49 PM

^how much was it to get your 335 tinted?

The_AK 06-14-2009 05:47 PM

any places that will actually sell the tint to you? I tried a place near 5 and Steveston but they don't sell tint separately. I'm able to put window tint on, I just need some of it and i'll be set. =D

It was $275 for the Madico tint and he did an amazing job on the the dot matrix which I heard is a bitch to do on the BMWs.

I buy my tint from 3M Trim Line.

well i checked out craigslist and came across this ad,
has anyone dealt with these guys? They are in Richmond
http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/pts/1224126483.html

basically they have 50%, 35% and 5% tint, 50cm by 210cm
1 roll is 15
2 rolls is 25
3 rolls are 30 and 10 dollars for every additional roll,

I'm going to check them out today, I'll report back my findings ;)

I'd ask what brand that stuff is.. make sure it's not the cheap crap that will turn purple in a couple of years like the Canadian Tire or Walmart junk :)

I don't agree with this statement though:

Turns Normal window into Safety window
It's not a safety window... it's a safety hazard if anything. You put your head thru a tinted window, and it gets caught halfway... kiss your jugular goodbye.

Is it true that I should be looking for a thicker tint? The film at Canadian Tire seems very thin compared to the tint I saw when my dad was getting his 4x4 tinted professionally.

Harvey Specter 06-16-2009 03:58 PM

Lol, I deserve a face palm.

actually the canadian tire tint is very thick, and it creases super fast too

keifun 06-16-2009 11:21 PM

don't get cheap tint..over time it will turn purple or go clear.

I'm using Sun-Guard shadow film...it has lifetime warranty on it as well.
A lot of places in Metro Van. carry it.

ilvtofu 06-17-2009 09:25 AM

^did u install it yourself?

I really need my rear windows tinted cos theres no privacy into my trunk at all, but i'm not sure who does good installation for a good price, or what price is considered reasonable.

Vip13 09-28-2009 09:16 PM

N motion will do a good job, they get it into the rubber sidings (and hard to do trunk angles), plus its relatively fast.

shenmecar 09-28-2009 09:18 PM

good job for bumping a 3 month old thread.

The_AK 09-28-2009 09:36 PM

god damnit guys,
sadly i still havent tinted my windows,
instead my money went to the fine folks of the rcmp...
