line out converter with remote turn on? wiring a 08 civic, and wanting to keep the stock head unit. my option is to use a line out converter, tap it into the speakers, and the output rca's will be connected to the amp. if i don't want to tap the remote turn on to the acc, can i tap the remote turn on to the speakers? ebay has loc's that come with remote turn on input. should i get one of those? tia |
You can also connect to a lot of amps using high level input, and not bother with line out converter. Also on many of the newer amps if you're using high level inputs you don't need a remote turn on wire. You may want to look into that. I'm sure others on here and give you more info. |
We usually use the accessory as a turn on. Most newer amps have a soft turn on circuit so there is no 'pop' when you first start up the system or turn it off. Also, why Ebay? Local sponsors (like us!) have lots of different LOC's with and without the remote turn on built in to it. Local warranty, hook-up pricing and free advice goes along way! |
ok will def chek it out at sounds good mike bestbuy audio guy told me to tap the loc to the front speakers, because there is distortion if i tap it to the rears? |

^ well i guess not, he was the audio installer guy, and he confirmed with his other installer, and they said the same thing if i tap the loc to the rear, the sub will flutter like crazy? |
You can tap to the rear...just don't tap to the factory subwoofer output (if it has one). |
also, if you tap into the rears, and fade the sound to the front, you will lose sub output. |
