^hmm it doesn't really say it's stock in that video, and you can't see the speedo clearly,

^^ the thing about edmund's time is that they have professional measuring gear, whereas this guy and the guy on youtube just judge using their cameras and car speedo, so there is much more inaccuracy, which is why you'll see times generally slower on edmund's than youtube. especially with the self proclaimed "stock" cars

But I bet that with a better transmission that camry can definitely do under 6 considering the power:weight, but the video clearly shows how slushy the gearbox is, and do these cars typically start in second?

As far as I remember, all V6 Camry's came with the 6sp auto. Unless he did a neutral drop, I don't see how he got such a big improvement.

Youtube shows a bunch of video's where people got the car down to a 6.1 second 0-60 mph. Hmmmm....

i am not sure. but google search does return the number around 6 seconds. some a little faster, some a little slower. but it's always like that for every cars I believe.

^check what the times are from all the car magazines, they've got better speed sensing technology,
Amateurs on cardomain will probably be using a stopwatch, or better ones maybe dynolicous or a g-tech, but most likely camry drivers don't have the same technology as the professionals, or if they do it's most likely a car enthusiast who has put mods on the car. But with a set of sportier tires, camry will do 6 no problem

BinsentoW 06-20-2009 09:39 PM

In a hurry, so didnt check the 0-60 times, but cheap crappy car that does a decent 0-60? maybe a hyundai genesis coupe?

Timpo 06-20-2009 11:00 PM

wow so the V6 Camry is actually faster than 1st gen Porsche Boxster

although Genesis coupe gets smoked by Mustang GT and 370z in every single test reports, it's CHEAP!

there's no need..... a Camry that does 5.9s or a Camry that does 6.2 sec are still fast. The point has been made.

people with EG EK and those stuff and think they are fast are silly.;)

hm.. you got that from the internet..

It's funny how you bring that link up when I just wrote an in-class summary the other day on "Information Overload." It was about how this society has too much information, and anyone can prove his/her opinion right by just digging through mountains of unproven facts. In other words, you'll always find a source that agrees with your opinion, no matter how wrong you are.

use the time you type on the internet and grab a coffee with a chick, that will make your life happier. Unless you are stuck at work just like me that got nothing better to do, then yeah.

I can't believe people get angry with other's comments...I just lol

BTW, CAMRY SE IS A SPORTY CAR...LOL how does that feel?

0-60 isnt important for daily driving unless ur always pulled over on the freeway...for daily driving gas mileage is important so i guess camry wins lol...but also which is faster in 40-70 mph...thats daily driving on the freeway

it does get 0-60 in 6 seconds though.. you don't have to search through hundreds of sites to find just 1 agreeing with you. do a quick search and off the bat, you'll get reliable sources on its 0-60 time. reliable as in car & driver, edmunds, etc. if C&D and edmunds aren't reliable sources to you, then the only reliable source to you would be to drive the car itself... and i can bet good money that if you actually tried, you'd get the mentioned 0-60 time

XD

Car that's not capable of handling a turn on a track is considered "SPORTY" because of it's 0-60 times?!?!!?

So wait, based on asianXL's comments, a dodge ram and rolls royce phantom are sportier cars than an RX8???

Unlikely, looks like a 3000GT to me. They're the exact same car, it's not worth that much trouble. 3000GTs imported from the states are much cheaper and plentiful than Canadian Stealths anyway.

He would have had to change the headlights/tail lights, turn signals, sail panels, bumpers, door caps, and side skirts.
