What is section 13(1)(b)???

Question to the police squad on here...

What is section 13(1)(b)?

What is the offense, fine and penalty points?

I've looked it up on the icbc website and I can't find anything.

The icbc site where its located is:
http://www.icbc.com/driver-licensing...riables._frag_

The fines and penalty points chart doesn't have it either.
http://www.icbc.com/driver-licensing..._penalties.pdf

On the motor vehicle act regulations, all it says is that its been repealed.

Thanks!

The section really means you have a vehicle that is on a "highway" with no current license. It is sometimes used to give somebody a REAL break for having no insurance. In BC your ICBC paperwork is your "vehicle license" and your insurance. Look at the sheets and you will see two distinct sections. Failing to display your BCL is under the MV Regs...section 3. Do a google for BC motor vehicle act for the license section 13...and the BC motor vehicle act regulations for the plates.

Well, that's what bclaws.ca says, as of today, so it's at least the most recent official version published on the web.

Noble 06-29-2009 05:17 PM

any idea how many points go with it?

zulutango 06-30-2009 05:31 AM

No points, unless things have recently changed. Not considered a moving violation.

here's your dumbass question of the day to follow up on this... its just sheer curiosity... nothing more...

What is the penalty for driving a properly registered vehicle (aka licenced, insurance, plates etc) all elements of proof are inside the car but you have no plate on the front or rear of the car... (plates are in the vehicle... and not displayed in any window)

What section would that fall under... and what would be the penalty...

Again... just curious ;)

Fail to display licence plate as required...$138 or $196...depending on which section is used as a charge section. Just insatll the plates and this question will never have to be answered. ;)
