my list is probably pretty tame ;) while in japan, i had whale sashimi, horse sashimi, moving squid tentacles (they react to your chopsticks, stick to the plate and the roof of your mouth(people die because they choke on them when they stick to your throat) and ive had chicken feet at dimsum, and chicken heart, ostrich at samba. |

Chicken testicles(not a big deal, common when having hotpot) but it tasted fuk'n gross. I once had a hard boiled sea turtle egg. Way too chewy to eat...I spat it out after 5mins of chewing. |
in Guangzhou, there's a fish dish where the everything behind the side fins are steamed cooked, but the head and gills are still alive. So you have this fish head on the table thats moving still and you are eating the end half of it. Oh yeah, it taste like normal fish. |
One food that I have always wanted to try was that chicken/duck embryo egg dish. I love chicken, and I love eggs, so it sounds like the perfect food for me. As long as it is prepared well, it sounds tasy as hell. As far as weird foods go, I have tried pretty much all the standard "weird" stuff you find in cantonese cuisine. Some of it I like, some of it I hate, some of it I love. I'll try everything at least once :) |
