Where can I buy fish balls?

Where can I buy a large quantity of fish balls? Preferably in bulk so it may be cheaper. Thanks in advance.

there is a place behind save on foods in richmond, across from public market. LAY CHUAN fish balls. they aer expensive as heck but they are probably the best fish balls I've ever tasted. it's similar to eating KK donuts for the first time.

If that's the place with the blue awning, on Westminster Hwy, then yeah their fish balls are pretty darn good. Very bouncy! :)

Fish balls aren't the only things I like bouncy... ;)

But you know what I mean - Can't find the right english word... chewy? In Cantonese, it's "sohng"!

Resurrecting an old thread...does anyone know a good recipe for spicy curry fish balls like the ones at the night market?

CP.AR 10-16-2009 03:42 PM

my way of making them:

Use those Glico curry "packets" you can get at T&T/Yaohan/Osaka/Supermarket 2000 (now on fire). Boil the fish balls until they float, and then proceed with sauteeing the balls in a pan with those curry packets. I can't really tell you how much to use... I just put it to taste...

Don't buy from T&T, their fish balls are never fresh.

that place... "Lei Chuen" in Richmond sells good fishballs, it's across public market and next to that BanZai sushi place. a bit more expensive but well worth the quality

So I just tried my first attempt at making spicy curry fish balls. It turned out pretty good!! The sauce wasn't as thick nor spicy as I would've liked it to be but I'll make adjustments for next time. Thanks to Captain Picard for the method, worked out great.

Also, I ended up going to Supreme Meats on 1st Ave to buy the fish balls. Is 3 bucks/pack a good deal? I mean its cheap enough already but I would like to buy them bulk.

get the glico packets and add spicy curry powder to it

thats what i do and it tastes awesome..
