| theres a lot of countries that like soccer with hockey or basketball. the big reason why soccer is popular all around the world is because theres a lot of poor countries out there where people couldnt afford more than a ball to play with. in some cases, they couldnt even afford a ball so they'd kick a makeshift ball which could be a can, some newspaper, plastic bags tied together tightly with strings, etc... in north america we dont know poverty the way other countries do. not saying poverty was the only reason why soccer was popularized but it was one big one for a lot of countries |
