Pioneer - AVIC F-series vs. X-series

Pioneer released the newest X-series for car navigation this week.

I am wondering if anyone knows the difference between that and the previous-generation F-series? For example:

AVIC-F700BT vs. X710BT
AVIC-F900BT vs. X910BT

All of the pics and screenshots I've seen so far look completely identical. Anyone know if there were any hardware changes?

Thanks.

Faster boot up, better OS. Apparently the F Series Software was done by a 3rd Party Company, the new X series is done by Pioneer this year.

^ Thanks for the info, can you please provide a link?

Okay, so digging around a bit, it looks like you are talking about V3.0 of the OS. V1 and V2 were done by the 3rd party like you said.

So do you know if buying a F then upgrading to V3.0 is identical to buying an X? Other than the obvious cosmetic changes to the faceplate. It looks like quite the price difference between F and X. Are they using new chips as well?

Also, do you know when the X will be available in Canada?

Thanks! :D

The 910 is scheduled to be here in the middle of July. The suggested retail price is $1299.99
