need Help understanding... i have a set of 17' rims i just bought and there too big for my car.. cause the tires are 215/45/17 what i was wondering ... would i be able to put 205/40/17 on the same rim? Please PM or email me if you could help Thank you... =) |
Yes you can. |
thanks buddy you saved me alot of time and money... |
usually you can go down or up one tire width on the same rim |
Is it that the tires are too tall? It might be a matter of the wheels being the wrong offset. If they're just too tall, you can also go to a 205/45/17 if you don't want the ride of a thinner sidewall. |

Stock height? Lowered (how much)? Where/when is it rubbing? Straight over bumps? Turning over bumps? On the inside/ outside of tire? |
when i turn and go over minor bumps... if straight away and no bumps it rides nice... so im assuming its the hight... |
i was also wondering how you can put 40w and 45w on the same rim?... if it would make that much of a diff to actually rub |

so that doesn't affect fitting on the rim, check the tire manufactures website for what beadwidth(RIM) an individual tire can be mounted to. |
ohh.. ok.. thanks.. how do i find out what the biggest tire size i can put on my car.. or anyone else's?... is there a web site or something?.. |
nm saw some other posts... it was very helpful... showed me this link ... http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Option...3&autoModClar= thanks everyone.. for all the info... i know how it was the width not the hight that rubbed with my last rims... biggest tire i can put on is 215/35/18 if anyone was wondering... |
