32"-37" LCD TV I'm in the market for a 32-37" LCD TV. Before I begin my research, I would like to know if it's worth the money to spend extra on a 1080p over a 720p LCD TV in this size. I've read somewhere that you can't tell the difference, so I would like to know your input. Thanks! |
are you talking about 1080i and not 720p? ask yourself, are you going to watch bluray. If not, then pick the best 1080i out there. I have a Sharp 32" 1080i for xbox360, DVD, RMVB, read game walkthrough (you know those are tiny *.txt file)... Then a 1080p in the family room for HD video |
if you sit within 2 feet of the TV and use it as a computer monitor - get one that is 1080p. Otherwise a 720p set for this size range is more than enough. |
1080P is more "futureproof" It comes down to what you plan on watching on your TV. If it's for gaming/bluray/computer I would go 1080P. If it's for DVD/Satellite/Cable/HDTV I would go 720P. There is quite a big difference between the two. Alot of time higher model 1080P LCD's utilize a better LCD which have better color then the others. Also, all LCD/Plasma TV's need to be calibrated. It'll make a HUGE difference in picture quality. Default setting is what they tend to call "torch mode" with all the settings turned up to MAX. I had a friend that bought a 720P Samsung, complained about how crappy the picture was and was ready to return the TV. I gave him a calibration disc to mess around with and he was impressed how big a difference it made on his TV and ended up keeping it. He's just a cable watching guy with the occasional DVD here and there. |
man i think 32" is too small, and im like 4ft away |

you will have a difficult time to read when using a 1080p TV as your PC monitor. I have to set my TV to 1280x1024 + super large icons for comfort viewing. |

I'm 2feet away from my 40..... |
willy, if you dont have at least a 40 (and even then u need to sit fairly close, about 5ft), you probably wont see a diff in the resolution |
