Already asked out. Wanting to be asked out again?

[Post for a friend]

Let's say your bf/gf got into a big argument. He or she says "i don't want to be with you anymore." Next thing you know it you guys straight things out. The next day you guys see each other. He or she expects you to ask him or her out again and say sorry. When you already officially together. Is that right? or it depends what people think? Shouldn't it be when things are straightened out. Wouldn't each other get back together already after working things out?

muteki 07-03-2009 07:24 PM

I think if it's a one day argument then you're still together.
The argument was probably like a in the heat of the moment kinda day if it was easily resolved, and thus I think you haven't really broken up.
If you were to break up for a few weeks or something then perhaps asking them out again would make more sense.

butter_sashimi 07-03-2009 08:04 PM

It's the girl who wants to be asked out again, isn't it?

miss_crayon 07-03-2009 08:10 PM

why do you need to ask your boyfriend/girlfriend out again when the fight has been resolved and assuming you are in a committed relationship. we're not 12 anymore.

if they're in highschool this is understandable but that's about it, otherwise grow up.

so, are they going to ask for each other's commitment again everytime they get in a fight? are they going to recount the length of their relationship (2 months, 5 months, 5 years etc) everytime they argue and make up?

ScizzMoney 07-04-2009 12:00 AM

arguments like that are free passes to hook up with someone else for the night.

That's pretty sweet, no more anniversary gift as it would never reach any anniversary. :D

HappyDorky 07-04-2009 07:19 AM

its only an argument.
if you two made up ,
whats the point of asking each other out again?

Both of you know, that you are still together, if things were sorted out.

besides if they want it to be "official" then wouldnt it mean, they care about status more than commonsense.

yes and yes if the bf/gf is asking the other person to ask them out again.

impactX 07-04-2009 06:23 PM

LOL luckily, I've never met a girl like that.

BallPeenHammer 07-06-2009 09:21 AM

i've never had to do that, even when in HS.

Your friend/friends will be fine. Just carry on, and take the fight as what it was, just a fight.

rsx 07-06-2009 12:06 PM

Can't understand

is this thread serious????
do kids these days really need the whole worlds opinion on what to do with their relationships? what ever happened to taking control of ur own life??

hotjoint 07-07-2009 07:17 AM

wtf is this serious? wow talk about being childish.

BallPeenHammer 07-07-2009 08:16 AM

hey, guys, with all due respect, we should be here to advise, and not slam the op so quickly.

So what if the "friend" is actually the OP? What if it's not? I highly doubt all of us were responsible or smart about girls/boys when we were younger/less experienced.

Maybe he/she's going through their first relationship, they may be very young, very inexperienced, shy, or any combination of above.

So instead of slamming them, maybe you guys should show a bit of respect and get on to doing what we all SHOULD be doing on the R&G forums: help.

Ever heard of looking for a second opinion?

I am guilty of this too but I agree. This forum is here to help people that have relationship problems and gender discussions; we should try not to be bashing people

vo_hantu 07-07-2009 11:47 AM

Your buddy and his GF are stressing over the smallest things in life. Glad that they solved it, but if it happens again...and again: time to find a new flame.

BallPeenHammer 07-07-2009 12:49 PM

Op, please update.

And I think I can speak for everyone here, that the couple has nothing to really worry about. A fight's only a fight, and sometimes harsh words are said

But if 2 ppl are good w/ each other, then they can jusut go back together. No asking required.

GL.
