I thought T1R lug nuts were expensive...not even close

I was shocked when my friend bought a set of t1r lug nuts for his NSX. The first reason was the fact that they cost $500, the other is the fact that it's hidden within his TE37's. I came across these lug nuts and I was shocked! These nuts cost $1500 a set, and they are for Porsche and other exotics...

well, it has titanium etched on it. if its full real titanium then thats understandable.

also being for porsche, means its probably a 14x1.5??? i dont remember if they will work on vb's and audi's.

either way, for exotics, prices like that arent unheard of. can u imagine paying 25,000 for an exhaust?

the_darkside 07-05-2009 11:09 PM

I have yet to find a super exotic part. Where can I find parts over $10K? Not that I can afford it, but I just find it interesting. I always thought Dymag makes the most expensive wheels, sachs suspension, Capristo exhaust???

^ A Heffner Twin Turbo Setup on a Gallardo. That thing cost 54k lol.....outrageous....

makes me sad that some super car mods cost more then my future cars themselves :(

Dentz 07-06-2009 10:13 AM

An Endless BBK setup for the new GT-R is $15,000.

shenmecar 07-06-2009 12:12 PM

is it even necessary? how will it improve pperformance?

If you're doing some serious professional racing, every little bit of weight reduction helps. With the amount of wear, tear, and stress you put into the car and its components, titanium can stand up against all of it.

Otherwise, it's just a waste of money.

After you max out the performance of major aspects in the vehicle, the only things left to mod are things left to do is fine-tuning. Racing lug nuts fall into the fine tuning category, since their performance gain is minimal

ilvtofu 07-06-2009 01:14 PM

How much do the ones on a carrera GT cost?

^agreed, it's probably one of the last and least cost effective things to do

skyxx 07-06-2009 01:24 PM

You're talking about the Wheel lock nuts right? Well to give you a ball park figure. The RS Spyder wheel option for the 09 Turbos cost about $3,700 USD. So if you're talking about one just solely for the CGT then it'll probably cost 2 times that amount or more. Plus the Locking nut is anodized in Red and Blue colours and is somewhat different interms of mechanical operation. Oh yeah and a fun fact, the CGT's torque spec for each wheel is 407 ft lbs. :)

The driver could probably lose more weight by going on a diet or fitness regiment.
