Shipping car costs?

I was in Paris last week and saw an Aston Martin V8 with Quebec plates.
Does anyone know how much it costs to ship?

asian_XL 07-06-2009 06:48 AM

it costs a lot

thumper 07-06-2009 07:28 AM

probably roughly the same cost as it would be to ship a JDM car across the pacific? but in your case it would be across the atlantic from the east coast...

maybe somebody pimping out thr car . same as some dumbasses put european plates on cars here. they are putting canadian plates on thr cars

j/k :P

isn't it like 1000-2000?

tool001 07-06-2009 10:01 AM

actually its really cheap, due to economic downturn, recently, many companies are offereing crazy rates for shipping.
Specially from asia i beli. i heard somewhere it was 1/10th price now.
my old company use to make software for container ships.. no surprise, that they are going under...

heh not in Europe... In London you'll see lots of supercars with Saudi or UAE plates during the summers...
I even saw one Ferrari with Argentina plates last month

ilvtofu 07-06-2009 02:38 PM

3k?

billboa 07-06-2009 04:35 PM

depends on if its shipped in a container or just rolled on and off.

ide assume an Aston would be in a container so prob 2-3k

Could be a Canadian diplomats personal/family car because I can't imagine a normal person importing a Aston from Canada to France, the import taxes and duties would be sky high.

I don't think whoever the AM's owner is has imported that car. It still carries the Canadian plate, meaning it hasn't been permanently registered with EU authorities.

It's just like people from Dubai fly their cars to London... they just move the car there, but do not register locally.

Harvey Specter 07-07-2009 05:09 AM

Actually someone spotted a car in Vancouver with plates from Dubai last summer.

thumper 07-07-2009 08:57 AM

whatever u do, don't go cheap and do it this way! :lol
