I saw the aftermath of a lady in an EK civic who drove off the road and hit a tree on the eastbound Bridgeport exit.

Overconfidence isn't good. This past snow storm had plenty of AWD's ditched, flipped, up a curb, in a house, etc.... these slick roads wouldn't be any different.

racerman88 07-07-2009 07:44 PM

ppl need to learn how to drive for the conditions

Volvo-brickster 07-07-2009 09:39 PM

I've never understood this "slippery road" phenomenon when it 1st starts raining that people speak of?

Sure there's a thin layer of oil on the roads, but does traction drop 75% or something as soon as it rains or something? Either that or I just don't drive my car very hard.

I never even notice it on my motorcycle. Road still feels the same.

some people buy cheap tires that don't disperse rain water very well and add that to some oil slick, shitty driver and you have a combo for an accident.

Also people tend to run their tires down to near bald to save money...that also adds to problems...

Motorbike tires, i believe are made of a more sticky compound...therefore stick a bit better than el-cheap 60 dollar michelin tires from crappy tire.
