I agree with everyone. Kid carson is f'ng annoying as hell...

The beat sucks big cock. Back when it started, It was a pure urban hip-hop radio, similar to the stations in Toronto, playing Canadian underground tracks. Now they play bullshit Kelly Clarkson and Akon. Fuck the Beat. Stupid bitch ass programming director needs to be beat the fuck on with a bat.

Went to the event today, it was actually pretty fun. Free chicken and rice from Nando's chicken (heres the Free PR they wanted) so that was definitely worth it too.

rsx 07-10-2009 10:21 PM

Yeah, it was cool for about a minute. Fucking station went to hell.

I listen to The Jeff O'Neil Show in the morning.

68style 07-11-2009 06:43 AM

You guys are calling Kid Carson an uneducated ignorant asshole... and then in the next breath saying that the Jeff O'Neill show is the place to be? Talk about the pot calling the kettle black LOL!!! He's the epitome of the crotchety old man down the street who thinks everything was done better in the past and the phrase "come on man" is the best argumentative counterpoint that can be made.

You wish buddy. There's no way you can get from downtown Vancouver and get to White Rock in 30 mins especially at 9 AM (assuming you're going by the speed limit). Unless you drive a Ferrari and managed to hit all green lights at 4 AM in the morning.

It's say it's doable if you can get out of downtown quickly enough. Once you are off Oak St. bridge... going down highway 99 at a 140ish clip will get you to white rock in 15-20 minutes. Just getting out of Vancouver that is the hard part.

Agreed. Truly, I just want to listen to music. So I tend to listen to Crave. I'm beginning to like the variety they have and the lack of lengthy pop-culture discussions.

The beat has an awful programming director. Blame the CRTC all you want but there is no excuse for playing "There's a hole in my bucket" or whatever 6 or 7 times a day.

I'd love to listen to Kube93.3 but I don't have the slightest clue how you guys are getting any receptions.

Really, once the city goes wireless, I will find a way to stream my music using shoutcast or any website station. The variety will even trump satellite radio.

At 140 km/h it would actually be under 15 minutes to White Rock.
Its only 40 km from downtown to White Rock

The Beat still has signs of its early days...late Friday nights, a couple of the in-house DJ's play urban hip-hop that would never be in that crap-pop day lineup. I wanna try Kube as well, but my clock radio either gets JRFM or Red FM.

And Crave is now Virgin Radio...

For the people that listen to satellite radio, which stations do you listen to?

The_AK 07-12-2009 01:17 AM

I prefer KISS FM sometimes (House/Trance/Dace Radio from Kiev, Ukraine)

I listen to the Bro Jake show @ work but it's not really my decision, but rather my supervisor

What the hell? 50 cent and the Black Eyed faggots not really underground.

^ There's lots of stuff that I'd never heard unless I listened that late.

My online radio source is di.fm - There's several genres of electro/techno/trance music on that site, and it had covered ASOT 400.

You can't go anywhere near 140 in and around the tunnel. Too much congestion and police presence.

i hate how di.fm is very low quality for windows media player and basically forces you to listen from winamp, other than that its a good source too. I always hear a clip of a guy saying "digitally imported" during asot mixes too, haha

140km/hr = 2.33 km/min

40 km = 17.14 min

Solution to get 40 km in under 15 minutes is to go 160+
