Does Shaw still let you transfer DCTs?
 

I remember reading that shaw was making it so that we couldn't buy Motorola boxes from the states/east coast and using them here with shaw

but are we able to buy like someones used Shaw DCT to use?

My buddy is moving to Australia and i was gonna grab his PVR

As far as I know, you can use someone else's Shaw DCT. There are tons for sale on craigslist, but the only problem with buying from a stranger is if it is stolen and the original owner calls in to have that particular unit disabled/deactivated, then you're screwed.

But in your case, you should be fine since it's your buddy's.

And you're also right about DCT from the states/east coast. You won't be able to use those.

ya you can transfer, you and your friend just need to be at the same place with his and your drivers licence.

thats easy, just call shaw and activate the terminal on the spot before paying the seller, if anything is wrong, then dont buy.

tell your buddy to call into shaw and to authorize the transfer of his dct to your account. once that is done, you call in to activate the dct under your account
