Cannot boot into Windows normal mode, please help. Last nite before I go to bed, I shut down my desktop PC (Windows XP Home Editon) and this morning when I try on my PC, it boots up with Windows logo and then suddenly shut itself down (my LCD also go into power saving mode). Reboot by pressing F8 and go through Safe mode, Safe mode with networking etc, no luck to boot back into normal Windows XP Home, please help. |
step one back up all your stuff step two insert your windows CD and try a repair if that does not work re install windows. |
So can you, or can you not boot into safe mode? If not, stick your HD in an enclosure/another PC, and backup your shit. Then like Manic! said, either repair or clean reinstall. You can also try running a live installation of Ubuntu to see if it's your computer or installation of Windows. |
i had a problem similar to this. it loads up and then flashes to a bluescreen, reboots and repeats. i ended up having to start from scratch. sucks but had to do it. i saved all my shit on a external harddrive though my safe mode |
so did safe mode work? I couldn't understand from your post. Since your last shut down...try to remember what the last things you installed. Unfortunately, these types of problems are the hardest to trouble shoot and it is usually less time consuming to just reformat and start fresh. But if you're able to get into safemode, then that's a different story. |
pray its not a f-nimda virus (believe thats what its called) |
