Wheel Vinyl. New shit? Yes or No.

This looks like one of those fads that will come and go, and nobody will be the wiser.
The only way I see this shit actually being (remotely) cool is if it were put on drift cars or show cars. I fear the day I see some random car rocking this on stock height and no lip. Passable on slammed/massive dished wheels ONLY.

I'm all about retarded attention grabbing shit, but I will not put floral patterns on my wheels.

This was at TAS 09. Theres a reason why you didn't see pics of this earlier.

I ono but I like it.

wonder how much sumtin like that would cost

ilvtofu 07-10-2009 10:54 AM

Damn that's nice, but it looks way too complicated to install

CorneringArtist 07-10-2009 10:58 AM

Looks interesting enough on like you said, DEEP dish wheels, but if I wanted floral patterns on my wheels, I think I'd rather drop an arm and a leg on the Hoshino Sakura wheels (for older cars anyways, this would only work for newer cars).

!Aznboi128 07-10-2009 11:52 AM

um... if its camo that'll be cool

jmvdesign 07-10-2009 11:53 AM

i like it. it's actually original and creative. definitely a plaid pattern or even a tattoo style graphic/illustration would look good. keep in mind that we're still experiencing a revival in tattoo imagery/culture and plaid pattern seems to be coming back. this would only look good on a show car though.

it actually looks ok. I'm sure if the owner is a girl then everything will be in place.

shenmecar 07-10-2009 12:04 PM

I think this only works for show cars.

elkayem 07-10-2009 12:43 PM

lol imagine wheel curbing.

you 07-10-2009 12:49 PM

puke

SpuGen 07-10-2009 01:31 PM

It's been done before, but not that many people are know about it.
I could see someone doing CF though. Tacky, but there will be some that think its cool.

You can see why it's one trend that won't be blowing up in popularity. At least in some circles.

It's called water imaging. A process where you dip the wheels in water, and the machine does funky shit to it.

water-imaged wheels:

AWESOME. Now you too can have wheels that look like they have hand-smeared shit all over them too!

... but to each their own.

I think all this dressup stuff is tacky and ugly.

jbsali 07-10-2009 02:50 PM

i really like it! however this could only be pulled off on sponsored cars. could have those floral patterns on say a vehicle with no decals at all. +1 for creativity

ToyotaPowah 07-10-2009 02:52 PM

First ones are cool for show cars. The camo wheels look like horse shit though.
