selling your own house without an agent? Hi, anyone know how to sell a house without an agent? it just doesn't feel right to pay them $30,000 for few days of work. |
Go with a lawyer who deals with real estate transactions for the paperwork. Advertising is up to you, there are a few places where you pay a small nominal fee to get your home listed on the MLS, which is the most important aspect. |
There are real estate agencies that only charge $5000-6000 which advertise on MLS.ca |

ERealty MyRealty HomeBuyandSell All these brokerages charges a flat setup fee, a weekly fee for however long the property is listed for and a commission to the listing agent (0.5% or what-not), and a negotiable commission to the selling agent. If a buyer comes directly to the seller you are only liable for the portion of the listing commission. I would really sit down and crunch numbers to see if you're saving any money at all going this route (ie: home takes a long time if at all to sell) since you as the seller will be doing the bulk of the work, you mind as well find an agent (ie: 1%) who's willing to do most of the work for roughly the same cost to you. |
