Need helpw w/ DEI 556H

ok,

i have a DEI 556H that i'm installing. so far the DEI manual has been absolute rubbish. the manual shows a picture of a honda 7-pin connector w/ labels 1-7but it doesn't state whether their labeling is referring to the connector w/ the wires facing the reader or vice versa. i have a feeling it's supposed to be read 1-7 w/ the wires facing the reader, but the labeling on the honda connector is the other way around.

also, can anyone comment on the purpose of the green wire (from 556h) that's supposed to connect to pin 1 of the honda connector? it's labeled reference. by reference, are they saying it needs a ground reference? also, the diagram shows a dotted line going from pin 1 of the honda connector to the ecu. what does dei want me to do w/ that wire? the instructions don't say to cut it either.

here's the 556h manual

DEI = Don't Ever Install.

Use a Fortin or Idatalink module if you want it to work, they have great documents to support their products.

You guys must have seen the Fortin email by now about the Chrysler piece.. wow that will save a whole of time to install eh. It's great time for integrating into factory system but not too much install revenue.
