which EBC Two boost controllers I'm looking at right now are the Greddy Profec and HKS EVC 5/6. I've seen a lot of people run the Profec and it is considerably cheaper as well. Major reason I'm leaning towards the HKS is because I'm also using the HKS Fcon Vpro right now. I guess it makes the whole system a bit more integrated.......not too sure if you guys understand what I'm trying to say. Power goals are 280 HP mods as of now ca18det T28 w/HKS wastegate actuator tomei poncams w/cam gears turbo elbow 3in downpipe 3in catback HKS FCON Vpro |
either one would work the same with the fcon vpro greddy profec is easier to set up evc 6 has more functions to it, but most of them are useless evc 6 does look badass with the knock amp and turbo timer tho http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u...1/IMG_1050.jpg |
interesting this is what my friend told me the greddy one it a lot more complicated to use. if you don't set it up right it will spike. the hks one it really easy. i just didn't want to take the chance. i think mine is a 4. it's not the newest one it's the one with a display and a control box. |
I have a Greddy Profec B Spec II for sale. It's worked great for me and I get really good spool from it. I've gone standalone and am going to control boost with my standalone now. You would have to pick up a solenoid though. I believe they are about $110 from Greddy. $100 takes it. The boost spike is if you set the start boost to close to your final boost. Keep the start boost just a pound or two below your peak boost and it keeps the spike in control. e.g. Peak boost = 15 psi, set your start boost to roughly 13 psi. This will give you the best spool without the spikes. If your peak boost is 15 psi and you set your start boost to 15 psi, you will have great spool, but the EBC will not start to try to "check" the boost until it reaches 15 psi and the boos will keep climbing for a second afterwards, hence, spike. |
