clutch feels different??? well i dont know why but i blanked out and did this... while coming to a complete stop during parking i clutched in and clutched out fast and my car jolted but i was parked so i stopped and left it there for about an hour or two. Then i got back and started the car and it feels like 5x heavier then it normally did...and just feels different. Any idea what it could be?? i have a UUC multi-puck ceramic clutch for my bmw 330 and a 7.5lb UUC lightweight flywheel. thanks. |
1. Check your brake fluid resevoir. Not sure if your E46 shares one with the brake/clutch. Top it off with fresh brake fluid if necessary. 2. You may need to bleed the clutch and/or brakes. Air may have entered. Just throwing out some ideas. |
Usually air in the system would cause a softer pedal feel not a heavier one but again wouldn't hurt to check. At any rate, heavy clutch pedal feel usually is related to binding in any of the mechanical parts, worn clutch, or pressure plate springs being all mangled (thought that usually comes with noise too). Let us know what happens! |
a bit off topic you have a 7.5LB flywheel? or a 7.5 KG flywheel ? |
weird, fluid looked fine. everything seemed to check out. i got back into the car after a couple of hours and my clutch felt normal again... i guess i'll bring it into the shop to find out sometime this week. caketech: i'm actually not sure, i swear i read it was 7.5LB flywheel, but now that i go back and try to find it, i dont see it anywhere...hahaha. |
Could have possibly jamed your slave when you stoped. |
