how to use a spare HD
 
i took apart this computer for the HD, however i do not have the appropriate cables etc etc to use it

what do i need, it was from a HP PC, are there chords to connect this old school HD to a USB?

If you want to conect via USB you need a IDE hard drive enclosure like this:

sigh my frd told me that i needed a HD case thing, i was hoping there would be a magical chord that connects to usb

put it inside the computer... it's free.

before you buy anything you'd have to know if your drive is IDE or sata...
