What? Have you ever been to one? Did you hear what I said when they were chanting "Cambie's next!"? OF COURSE they are trying to make a statement, that's the whole point. They publicly say they are trying to convince the city they want a bike lane on the Cambie bridge.

If they had it their way no one would own car and we would all ride bikes. They inconvenience the people in CARS on purpose, hence why they shut down roadways.

How about all the "One Less Car" bullshit stickers and signs they are holding? How about when everyone stops and raises their bike over their head and cheers?

You think they are just "riding their bikes in group for fun"?

Critical Massers, like the event itself, are highly unorganized sheep in large groups. All it takes is one person starting a chant and they'll follow. But then they'll also just disperse at the end and forget about what's going on until the next month.

If it weren't for Gregor, nothing would have happened with any of the bike lanes, 'cause they're a bunch of pro-commune hippies who would happily see the Corporate Domination Of The World (tm) brought down and everyone return to their bicycling agrarian roots.

The people you are talking about represent 1% of the entire group.
Go talk to the majority of people who participate in critical mass, the VAST MAJORITY are just sheep herd who follow the mass for fun, they don't really care much about more bike less car

If they really do, they'd protest in front of the city hall and their local MP, which will be much more effective at promoting their "cause" instead of riding in group like a riot
