Ticket question, laser involved

Hey, just wondering, if a cop gets you on laser and writes a ticket, is it mandatory that they write laser/radar on the ticket?

also, an officer told me once that if they get me on laser, they have to write a ticket for the lasered speed (30 over the limit) and was not able to write a ticket for a lower amount.

Is there any truth to any of this?

thanks

I don't believe they are required to write the speed on the ticket. They usually would write it in their own notes so that they know what they clocked you at if you dispute. The one ticket I ever got for speeding did have the speed. The officer wrote that I went 86 in a 50 zone. I was very lucky as it was only a written warning and not an actual ticket.

Nope and nope. The officer's note will contain the alleged speed or speeds...you dont want it on the ticket. Sometime for internal Unit scoring purposes I would write R, L,UM,MC,AC
etc on the top paper tab of the stack but that is not for any court purposes.
