Help: Small streaks on hood, extremely fine?

Hey everyone, my friend and I were waxing his Fahrenheit and came across some weird marks...

The marks are right in the middle, sorta parallel to each other, Overall the car was really nice to wax cos of the colour :) just used some cambodian tire products and we were both satisfied, didn't clay it or nething and only spent about 2 hours on it.

The two marks couldn't be waxed out, and you can't feel them at all they are actually really obvious under the right light and not even that thin, anyone got clues?

haha the front passengers wheel is curbed pretty bad, but otherwise the car is mint :)

Obviously we don't take detailing that seriously lol, but we care enough to do wax our cars occasionally XD

Also the turtle wax Ice detailer spray worked wonders for coating the paint :)
Don't flame me for using it lol we're amateurs who'd rather drive the cars than detail em...

BTW the Z is quite dirty in the pic, hasn't been washed for about 2 or 3 weeks at least...

Didn't even bother with masking tape etc.

I can't see anything from the pics, but just applying wax to it won't do squat for paint imperfections.

It's in the second pic of the first post, Theres two lines smack dab in the middle,
Ne ideas what to do about it?

It's only in a pretty inconspicuous area so it's not a big deal neways, only under the right angle can u see it

Also wondering If we use touch up paint, what sorta process should we take? Theres just some chipping that we want to fix when we have time

the 2 lines looks like some kind of etching ? can't really tell from pics...
depending how much you want to do to the chips you should prob clean/touch up/wetsand/compound/polish/wax

Truenosan 08-01-2009 07:26 AM

wetsand is a last resort. Try compounding it first, if you don't know what to do, find a detailer who can do it.

For touch up paint, it is best to just lightly dab paint on the chips, rather then brush it on.

After u dab on the touch up paint is there anything you need to do after as a treatment?
The places that need touch up are really just dabs neways :)

Truenosan 08-01-2009 09:30 PM

There isn't much else you can do after the touch up. If you were really picky, and wanted it to blend in a tad better, put a little extra paint on there, let it try, then wetsand/polish the area.

But if the touch up spot is in an inconspicuous spot, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
