Where to buy Grit Guards locally?

This is what I'm looking for: http://www.gritguard.com/product_inf...35a244f6e4f51a

I know I can get it online but I don't really want to wait and have to pay shipping/handling. Canadian Tire has their own house brand version that comes in a rectangular bucket but I don't really want that. I already have some empty 5 gal. buckets that I use so I only need the insert.

Thanks in advance.

Or you can get them from me.http://www.autowerkesexclusive.com/p...rds/index.html

I think crappy tire was selling one for around $20 with a bucket

roastpuff 08-05-2009 08:23 PM

It's a tiny bucket. Not a proper 5-gal, but something like 1-gal.

And it's square and weird shaped. And WAY overpriced!

ilvtofu 08-05-2009 09:35 PM

Are you talking about the red one?
hmm today they had a blue simoniz one and it was pretty shitty... i was like $10!?!?!? why'd anyone buy that??? and they had at least 30 sitting around...

roastpuff 08-06-2009 01:34 PM

Talking about the blue Simoniz one. It's crap, IMO...

Complete rip-off. I can get two regular 5-gal buckets AND grit guards for one of these.

mickz 08-06-2009 02:15 PM

Yeah I saw those Simoniz ones at Cambodian Tire and I'm not impressed with the quality, size or price. I'm not impressed with Simoniz anything after buying a few of their products in the past.

I'll probably end up PM icanpolish about it. 911fanatic, I'd love to buy from you but Maple Ridge is just a bit too far for me to drive.

The chamois was very disappointing. It doesn't suck up water at all. I used it, and I went WTF because it wasn't working. Hoping to try out another brand - anyone seen a good one?

eFx[A2C] 08-06-2009 04:03 PM

There's not a lot of selection up here. It's better to get stuff online from the states.

Sorry I haven't checked this thread in a while, I just sent you a PM.

I PM'd icanpolish a while ago but they never got back to me. Is anybody else selling it in the Vancouver/Burnaby area?

MG1 08-23-2009 11:27 PM

I picked up a whole bunch of stuff from Autowerkes.

Clay bar, the grit guard you are looking for, and some tire treatment. Good prices. Helpful hints....... free.

jeff_alexander 08-25-2009 02:17 PM

Is Autowerkes a detailing supply shop where I can drop by to buy stuff or an online shop only?

604_Snooze 08-25-2009 03:51 PM

^
both, Ken's shop is located in Maple Ridge.

jeff_alexander 08-25-2009 10:37 PM

I want his expert advice in helping pick out my first polisher + pads and polish. I'll try to swing by sometime this week.

jtap1 08-25-2009 10:49 PM

Hey OP
I have one extra grit guard I bought from icanpolish:
http://www.icanpolish.com/shop-by-brand/grit-guard

I bought 2 thinking I could fit it in the buckets I was using, but apparently one of the bucket is too small. It is still un opened in the plastic wrap.

I'll sell it for $10, please let me know.
