credit Ok. So long story short, I went home for a short 9day vacay to bring my dog back so as to avoid quarantine (3months and younger can skip the 9month quarantine). While back I decided to buy a new car for my parents. So of course, I opted for the yaris. Submit my credit application to toyota and i got flat out rejected. Despite the fact I qualified for a 300 mortgage. I called and asked why and they said that i have derogatory credit obligations and a debt of over 2M and basically zero credit. This was news to me so I called TD and they basically said "WTF are u talking about? you've got great credit" so I call toyota back, and they run it again, and the same thing happened. Call td again, n i could hear a lightbulb turning on in her head. she said that theres a guy in van, with my name, but diff birthday (about 45yrs my senior) and that when my name was ran, it jumps to his file. I went back to toyota, n they said that once toyota canada checks and rejects me, that I can no longer go thru them for the leases/finances etc. pissed off, i went to honda, told them it's not that i like honda, but if they can give better service than toyota, i'm sold. 30mins later, i walk out with a new car. Now my question is, does this mean I can NEVER again go with toyota? that i'm somehow blacklisted? and how does this affect my credit? i know i applied for credit with toyota, but was rejected. But it wasn't filed under my credit...it was under that assholes. so basicallly me -> toyota for credit -> searches under bankrupt mini-me -> hurts my credit? or me -> toyota for credit -> searches bankrupt mini-me -> hurts his credit? or or me -> toyota for credit -> searches bankrupt mini-me -> hurts no ones credit? |
oh, and honda said that this should never have happened. as they shold have ran my SIN and not my name. sounds logical. anyone from toyota know about this? |

I think someone at Toyota fucked up, or you might want to check with Equifax/Transunion. |
yeah...this is messed up. i know that being rejected by toyota didnt hurt my credit that much since it only took about a minute for me to be approved on honda's end. she was surprised it was so quick cause when she asked how my credit was...i told her it was between horrible and great. anyone else had similar experiences? i wanna kill that doppelganger of mine. |
Always check with Equifax and transunion before applying for loans. Make sure all your personal information is correct with them. They might have made a mistake when you were applying. The only thing that could hurt your credit score in this situation is applying too many times for loans. Every time they make a request to check your credit history it deducts points from your score. But when applying they look at more than just score, they look at payment history and collection history. I hope what Im saying is correct. Good luck. |

All we can do is speculate, why don't you just pull your credit and see for yourself? |
^ cant. equifax wont accept my korean ISP, transunion requires documents i do not have access to at the moment. |
if they entered your sin there is no way that this should have happened. must be some newb business manager that doesn't know what the hell hes doing. |
