From which date will you move up on the ICBC claim rate scale discount? http://www.icbc.com/autoplan/costs/claim-record/CRS Quote:

Date of your license renewal. So if your plate expires on August 6, 2009, and you didn't have any claims one year from that date, your CRS will go up one level. |
It starts on the first day you insured your very first car. It's like if you sell your first car right away, and do not drive at all for 20 years. You would be a 20-year claim-free driver, earning the MAX. discount. For example, if you have a 100%-fault claim on May1,2009. You would go up the CRS. You would return to orginial position on May1,2012. ( excatly 3 years time ) |
^ thats not correct..i havent insured my first car till this april and I have 20% discount. |
Isn't it the date on your driver's licence? |
they changed it a few years back. now it goes from the day you get your licence |
does it change anything if you had your license suspended? |
^ probably does, since you aint driving during that period of time otherwise 5% discount each year |
|
starts the day u get ur drivers license. |
Someone say my name? |
Fucking ICBC. It used to be 10% per yr, then they changed it to 5 %. They made the policy retroactive, so ppl who had just climbed back to the 40% discount had to start over again at 20%. I doubt that was legal and am surprised nobody sued them for it. |

Call an autoplan and give them to check your discount level. When they check your record, on the side, it will also tell you, when the anniversary date will be. |

question! what if the L expired, and have to rewrite the L test. Does it start over from the second L, or discount is already counted from the first L test. |
