Old Shaw Motorola Box

Okay so was at home watching tv using my shaw motorola box, then all of a sudden after changing channels I noticed I couldnt get channels 29+ anymore.. Now Ive had channels 29+ for over 2 years with this anolog box and all of a sudden it just stops working... Does shaw do box checks or something??? I know they havent put a filter on my box outside because my other tvs get those channels, and if they did I could get it off in 30seconds..
Also the reason I like using the box is because LCD's take forever to change channels and the box makes everything easy because it has the guide and obviously changes channels quicker... Anyone know how to crack a motorola box???

the reason is that the box is programed from the center so only the channels u pay for will work for that box i think?

try taking the box off and connect the cable straight to tv and see if you still have those channels

are you currently subscribed to those channels?

shaw is now automatically changing all the boxes to a digital signal. if you're currently not subscribed to those channels, the box will no longer receive them

if you are subscribed to those channels, just call shaw to get it fixed

if you're not subscribed to those channels, eventually those extra channels that you've been receiving for free will eventually be cut off for your other tvs

same fucking problem channels 7 through to 11 say One Moment Please (this channel should be available shortly) the 2 other hdpvrs in my house get the channels but this old motorola digital box from when everyone switched from rogers to shaw is fucked up

Well, no I'm not subscribed to those channels.. But i just found it was awkward that all of a sudden they cancled those channels... We only pay for basic 28- but on the anolog box it was always full cable once i removed the filter from outside with a simple coat hanger and flat head screwdriver... I dont know all i have to do is not use the motorola box but its kinda annoying now I dont have the guide and cant change channels quicker.
Media centre it is....

the old digital box is having a signal issue receiving the channels

you can try to..
  • unplug/replug the coaxial cable coming from the outlet
  • bypass any splitters
  • power cycle the box

if it still doesn't work, call shaw and let them know. they'll try to reset your box and book a technician if it still doesn't work

yeah, unfortunately there's no way around it since you can't change anything on the box itself to get those channels again
