Best Way To Benchmark Laptop Battery?

Right now I have a 720p video playing in a loop, and a webpage being refreshed every ten seconds.

Can anyone think of any other way?

Um... I'm not sure what you mean by benchmarking your battery.

When I test a battery's runtime, I disable all the low battery alerts and actions, leave the power settings for always on, and just leave it idling and see how long it lasts before there's absolutely no more juice left.

There's actually an easier way... I've used a program that can automatically do that for you and log the results. I forgot what the name of that software is... I'll see if I can find it tomorrow.

Battery Eater?

I'm selling my laptop, but the guy wanted me to give him a more accurate reading than what the built-in Windows tooltip does. I know that idling gives me anywhere from 5-6 hours, but yeah.

Depends on what you're benchmarking. If you are benchmarking video playback time, play a video on loop. If you're benchmarking web browsing, then open a web browser, etc.

Or you could buy MobileMark ;)
