Window trim, peeling black paint, exposed metal

What do you guys think? spray paint? sand it to expose the metal (lol that'd scratch it all up...)?

BTW theres a third brake light in the middle

I'm actually thinking of blacking out all my metal trim around the windows etc. doesn't look so good on a white car

Also want to know, if wet sanding is an effective way to remove bird poop stains
should i be careful when wet sanding a white car, cos the colour doesn't come out as obvious?

bought myself some fine sanding paper and some matte black paint and a spongey applicator... will post pics after the :facepalm: is done with...
