where to buy rubber mats for car?
 

bought my car used with fabric mats...seems kinda scary for when it's gonna rain and there'll be mud everywhere! looking to get some cheap but decent rubber mats before september! any good places to look?

Canadian Tire should have some. Muddy or whatever you get on the carpet mats should come out with a good scrubbing and cleaning

Costco has a nice Michelin set of 4 for around $30, the back 2 are not for larger cars though I put them in my 05 TL and it came out way too short :(

Word of advice is to get ones with DEEP channels in them as the cheapo ones will just let all the mud and water run off onto your carpet. Kind of defeats the purpose.

Definitely canadian tire. The only mistake I made was buying mats that werent quite as wide as I'd like.

so i went to cdn tire about 2 weeks ago...michelin were 25 per mat, goodyear same thing, and then these more generic ones, with smaller ridges were like 15 each. I cheaped out and got those.

the thing is - there are two types of rubber mats i noticed - ones with ridges and ones that're basically a useless decoration.

The ones i got have smaller ridges, but they're the type that're designed for rain, whereas michelin/goodyear had several types on them - some for rain, some for snow. I figured it's vancouver and i'm not gonna drive my lowered car in the 2 weeks it snows anyway, so who gives a shit? It's not worth it to buy super duper frosty the snowman mats

so yeah...never though i'd think so much about mats..lol..but my advice is to go generic or go home lol

I bought all my mats from Canadian Tire (mom's CRV, my Corolla, my TL, and my dad's Impreza). I have found that the ones that you can cut (i think made by michelin) are much much better fitting then say, those "Standard size" ones. The ones from costco, are not that great, as the grooves in my opinion are a bit too shallow and dosen't have the design to keep the water in.

Did you find the michelins for the TL way too short? The car has too much legroom I bought them too, they go all over the place =.=

If you care about your car.. get either Weathertech or OE.

But if your car is a crap box, any thing from $ store to crappy tire would do.

I agree with thumper and godwin. Weathertech is the way to go.

Some OEM all-weather mats are pretty good, but unless you get them thrown in at the time you purchase your vehicle, I'd use the money towards getting Weathertechs.

I agree, if you want rubber mats that fit perfect, you should consider oem ones. I think rubber mats look ugly and so I would rather wash my fabric mats more often. :P

OEM for perfect fit and the weathertech ones are pretty close to the same price as oem

yeah most stores with garages like canadian tire would have mostly everything you would need for your car.
