So much hate on hyundai's from that list.

SpuGen 08-11-2009 11:01 PM

Big fucking stickers that say "I'M KILLING IT" on your car.

http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._2903740_n.jpg

I'm such a "ricer", but I don't care.

Look in the hall of shame thread.
To me, anything rolling on fake/shitty sized wheels/no fitment is rice.
That E46 3 Series has nice fitment. Something 90% of Revscene members don't have.

JSALES 08-11-2009 11:03 PM

anything that's a honda and acura just to generalize that has stupid shit on it is considered rice to me

smk 08-11-2009 11:04 PM

lol

smk 08-11-2009 11:14 PM

^ lol! it looks pretty nice

r-b-x 08-11-2009 11:21 PM

low attention to detail
low quality in parts and labour
lack of a sense of style
in an attempt to give the appearance of a performance oriented car

it's not so much a shopping list of stuff you can do to make a car rice. it's a mindset where you want to achieve something but just fail horribly.

koukimonst3r 08-11-2009 11:41 PM

haha I see the exedy sticker!

the termed rice is stupid.

mostly used by kids who know nothing but aesthetics of the automotive crowd. They don't understand canards, gt wings, or splitters. they just want to point and laugh, and hopes someone will laugh with them so that they don't seem so oblivious. and sadly, most of you fucks are like that, which is why the term rice is so popular.

that being said, someone called me a ricer for lowering my car.

unit 08-12-2009 12:32 PM

>>They don't understand canards, gt wings, or splitters.

if you drive around on the street with any of these and have never tracked the car (and even if you did, probably didnt need any of these), you are a ricer.

+1. For the most part, the canards, wings, splitters, diffusers, air dams you see on the road are PURELY cosmetic and not actually engineered to work. And even if they were 'real' ones, doubtful they are adjusted properly to actually do anything.

Thinking that the splitter you just got actually DOES SOMETHING, is even sadder than a ricer who knows his wing doesn't do shit.

asahai69 08-12-2009 06:47 PM

Anything Timpo posts.

ivys2k 08-12-2009 09:51 PM

AM I A RICER?

ilvtofu 08-12-2009 10:03 PM

Nah, well maybe the wing, ne performace mods? although making a car look sexy in my book shouldn't be considered rice... it's the visual mods that simply look... well you know

I still hate the MDX. But whatever. My dad drives it. Still rather him have a SRT Cherokee.

A bit harsh.. but I have to agree.
Almost anything with a spoiler and rims gets called rice these days..
Having said that, I got called a ricer for having black rims on my black A4 :(

SomeAsianGuy 08-13-2009 04:09 AM

Personally, to me ricers are cars with pretty much the exterior is only modded, but with a loud exhuast for sound. Like the old saying all bark but no bite.

A splitter does massively help as long as it's big as hell. Like "can't change my engine oil without taking it off" huge.

Great68 08-13-2009 08:25 AM

You can have a exterior mod only car, and not be rice. It just has to be done in good taste and look good.

Good taste is not slapping on some ASA wheels, big spoiler and a fireball muffler.

asian_XL 08-13-2009 09:33 AM

ASA wheels are not always bad...

that's a moot point. If you drive around with track aero, and don't track your car, you're a hardparker, not a ricer.

I don't get the point you're trying to explain here. I know GT wings have adjustable AoA, but they are still functionable throughout the angles. For canards and splitters...I don't get how you would adjust them properly after installing them. I would say most cars in the lower mainland aren't set up properly to match their aero. As in, driving around with a 61" GT wing on your trunk, but on cut springs and stock shocks.

tofu1413 08-13-2009 05:43 PM

hm.

i drive a 86 and i think its riced. well. that muffler hanging out.. =.=
