:werd: especially with the new hugo boss outlet at the premium outlets, they have beautiful slim fit suits for about $400, and jackets for about $300
The selection is amazing, even for a 38 like myself

Hugo Boss is overpriced junk and black suits are for funerals IMHO. You could always try getting a MTM from indochino.com. I've yet to order anything from there, but that cotton olive suit is screaming for me :)

The last time I was in the States (Orange County), I bought a Navy Tallia suit that was canvased with peak lapels and pick stitching for under $300CAD.

Damn, that's a small size. It's going to be tough to find a size that small at stores like H&M, etc... Maybe try some online stores based out of Asia?

And I honestly don't mind shiny suits; Tom Ford had a nice black shiny suit during his Gucci days a few years back and a few designers have their own versions of shiny suits. There's a time and place to wear one, a wedding could be one of them depending on how you pull it off and trust me, I've seen far worst suits at wedding receptions then a shiny suit.

If you get a suit properly tailored it's not easy to be "junk" and Hugo Boss is nowhere near overpriced, even for a poor guy like myself! lol

nothing is over priced junk if it fits you well.

i just bought a Boss suit yesterday for $1500 and it fits and looks way better than any other suits that ive tried on. All ranging from $300- $1200.

Personally, i'd rather wear a trendy suit from H&M than pay $1000 for a "baller" suit. Maybe im just not at the age for them yet.:P

The worse that will happen is that he'll be dressed sharper than anyone there, including the groom and best man. I doubt anyone will acknowledge it, though he might get some awkward looks. Who cares?

You can never go wrong with a black suit, white shirt and black tie. Zenga also has nice suits under their "Z Zenga" brand.

Kamui712 09-22-2009 09:47 PM

update:
I wore the suit w/a grey shirt + black slim tie. And also with a wine colored shirt + black tie. Didn't go with the white shirt since everyone does it, maybe next time though.

Noone gave me funny looks, in fact i got compliments on it. So ya, no biggie.
