Question Re-Laptop formatting I have a Dell XPS laptop and I want to reinstall Vista but I don't have a Vista cd with it, since I bought it used. I do have the legit CD key on the bottom of my laptop though, is there anywhere I can download an ISO of Vista from a legit site since I have a key? (Ie. Not torrents) |
just get it from a reputable torrent site, everything will be fine |
vista has an option to creating a restore cd. |
No need to get a Vista ISO. Keep pressing F8 on the Dell screen when the computer boots up > Select Repair Your Computer > Select your Keyboard Language > Select your Account > Type in your password (if any) > Select Dell Recovery (should be at bottom of list; probably named something slightly different, I'm going from memory). It will reformat the hard drive and set everything back to how you got it from factory. |
^ Thanks, I just noticed there was a partition called "Recovery" and has a program that does just that! "This utility will restore your system software to the state it was in when it left the factory. In order to return the system to the factory state all personal files will be overwritten." Thanks for the help |
