| Alarm range/sensitivity is lacking
Hai Gaiz,
So I changed out the battery in my remote thinking that it maybe the culprit, but it's still the same.
The situation is like this: I have to walk REALLY REALLY close to my car, basically, it's the distance you'd keep between the car and you when you reach to open the door handle. That's the only time the alarm and remote will communicated. Second, the communication is intermittent. I'll press it and sometimes it'll fire, sometimes it won't. I if I hold down the button on the remote the chances are higher. Also, I have to walk around the car (sometimes, for shits and giggles) constantly pressing and stuff before I find a spot where the alarm will arm. Even standing in the same spot the communication is finicky at best.
Any idea wtf is wrong? Is the brain fucked?

My remote says it's a VIPER, but if it really is or isn't, I dunno. Bought the car used.
Any easy way to find where the antenna is? I think the alarm is pretty old school since the car is a 1990. Would it be located within the brain for such an early model?

What does the remote look like? Button configuration, some of the guys on here can possibly tell you the model and maybe even a location of the antenna.
