How Tight to torque down the crank pulley bolt? dont think it matters that much but for a toyota? i torqued it down to 110ftlbs. should be enough right? |
For Honda's, it's usually about 160ft-lbs. Be careful, I've seen crank pulley bolts back itself out when they weren't torqued properly. |

Basically the pulley is installed on the crank end, clean and dry. No oil or lubrication. The bolt threads and the threads in the crank are also clean and dry. No lube or oil. The only part that gets any bit of clean oil is the washer on the bolt. But ONLY on the side that faces the head of the bolt. And torque is around 160 lbs or so. But really, most guys just blast it on with the impact wrench. Not sure what Toyota torque is and sorry about putting Honda info on this thread. But Hope this helps |
toyota crank pulleys are pretty much pressed on, i think 110 ft lbs is tight enough. most of the time (if not all of the time) i have to use a steering wheel puller to take off toyota crank pulleys. |
