But most leases prohibit it. I'm sure that your condo complex prohibits it in public/common areas though. |
its British Columbia what do you expect them to be smoking....? buy a house if you want complete silence. |

I think it's the law to not allow smoking in common areas. |

Maybe your neighbor is silk. |
Here's what you do when they are loud at an unreasonable hour: Take a broomstick and start hitting the ceiling hard a few times right where the noise is coming from. It gets the message across quite clearly and avoids direct confrontation. And quit being such a pussy about the pot, it wouldn't be their pot you are smelling but probably someone below or beside you. |

:lol at everyone ripping this guy. |
For one, there are city noise bylaws that allow you to call the cops if there are noise issues after a certain time. In Vancouver it's after 10pm, and before 7am. Two, the latest smoking bylaw which limits you to smoking at a certain distance away from an entrance can be applied to multi-unit dwellings, such as an apartment or townhome complex. If the strata doesn't add it to their bylaws, an owner can call the city and report the infraction. Will someone actually come to issue a ticket? Probably not ... but you could suggest having it added to the condo strata bylaws, so that the property management company will issue fines against the owners whose inhabitants smoke on their balconies. |

listen to you inconsiderate fucks ripping on the op.... just because some people don't have a job to go to in the morning or don't own their own home doesn't mean its the same for the rest of us. most people having work in the morning and need a good nights sleep. when you own a home or a condo i'm sure you'd hate to have that shit stinking up your suite long term. # Noise Complaints Noise complaints are handled by the Property Use Division, City of Vancouver. Please call the Noise Hotline at 604 873-7753 or email them at noise@vancouver.ca. After hours complaints are handled by the Vancouver Police Department's non-emergency number 604 717-3321. |

The banging and weed smoke, or whatever else smoke it is, is disturbing a tenant. Regardless of the time of year, it's an annoying issue the OP has to deal with. |
You should line your ceiling with noise reduction foam :D As for the weed, ignore it, it's probably not that bad if they live above you ^ hehe regardless of the time of year, it's always a good time to blaze :haha:!!! |
i thought all condos had cement floors and walls, is the jumping and movies really that loud? i can never hear my neighbor's tv or phone calls even during primetime i know that for older apartment buildings, every step can be heard when the neighbor wakes up to use the potty and sometimes even synchronized laughing when family guy was on |

Then if you confronted me about it, all I had to say was "Oh what, you expect complete silence? You'd have no problem with this at all? Whatever world you're living in, book me a vacation there asap. Same thing goes for a fancy restaurant. You wouldnt yell at the top of your lungs talking to someone thats 2 feet from you, disrupting everyone else around you. They're paying just like you, so they deserve to be able to hear their own conversations, right? Same thing applies here. |

^^^ All the low-rise condos are wood frame. When I lived downtown, it was a concrete high-rise, and even then you could hear people walking, but it had to be dead quiet to hear them. I currently live in a low-rise, and knowing I didn't want to hear people stepping around, especially with hardwood floors, so I bought the top floor corner suite. No worries on people stepping around! |

Nonamehustla, did you not see? Yes I am going to be at the meet. |
I hate damn pot smokers and graffiti painters . I pay my taxes and har rar rar.... JKJK. Talk to them during the day preferably when they are not going somewhere so you can introduce your self and say something nice before being critical. Most people wont lash out and if they do then there might actually be a reason to contact the land lord. |
