Browser Problem This has been happening for awhile now but its gotten worse lately. I use internet explorer for the majority of my internet browsing and my homepage is set to hotmail. Frequently when I open my browser it'll connect to 65.54.186.79 and get stuck there like it searching and trying to open the page. I have to close and reopen my browser about 3 or 4 times before it'll actually load up. This is only happening with my internet explorer. I typed in 65.54.186.79 in the address bar and it brings up hotmail. Anyone have any ideas whats going on or how to fix it? |
Try resetting IE ... Tools > Internet Options > Last Tab (Don't remember what it's called) > Reset |
try clearing your cookies and cache (you'll have to login to all your websites again) disable auto connection detect: (internet options -> connections -> LAN settings -> "automatically detect settings" Also do a spyware scan...it's possible your browser got hijacked by malware. or just give up on IE and use a REAL browser |
I tried the resetting and but its still happening. Just not as often I'll see that disablign auto connection does. Thanks for the input guys. and yeah I already did a spyware scan cuz I thought my browser was getting hijacked but nothing came up |
Have you tried cleaning the cache? Tools > Internet Options > Delete |

what version of IE do you have installed? and what Anti-virus are you using? The reason I ask is because I had a problem with IE8 taking a long time to launch the first time, and I found out it was AVG causing it. |

safari is pretty flawed as well, on the security front |
