Old Appliances / New Appliances Hey folks, My parents have decided to rip out their old washer and dryer. They're super old and very inefficient almost to the point where it's not working. Now that it's been ripped out, how can we dispose of the old appliances? Are there stores out there that accept a trade-in/rebate or recycling program? While on the subject, where would be a good place to pick up some energy-efficient laundry washer and dryers? Any tips and helpful comments appreciated. Thanks! |
The recycle depot on Lynas lane in Richmond accepts them free of charge. I was just there today. I'm pretty sure there are other similar facilities throughout the lower mainland close to your place. |
put is a freebie on the street or cl or rs |
Problem solved. My parents went around town today to Coast Appliances, Trail Appliances, and Future Shop (Ugh!) Turns out, after some hardcore Chinese bargaining and sleuth price-matching with all three retailers, Future Shop gave the best deal. They did a price-match plus additional 10% off, free delivery, installation and pickup/recycle of our old appliances, and a $100 Future Shop gift card. Not bad! :) |
With the appliances they should be able to get rebates with BC Hydro as well. Depending on what appliances were bought. http://www.bchydro.com/rebates_savin...e_rebates.html |
