Saw it on opening day... had to sneak in at the Scotia Theatre on Burrard. LOL they are surprisingly lax... thank god. It was such an epic movie... definitely "odd" like most of Tarantino's stuff, equal parts comedy and gore. 9/10 :D |
fuck a duck and bear jew |
entire theatre was clapping at the end of the movie. the movies this summer have been TRASH besides this one. thank you QT |
lot of dialogue, but good Tarantino dialogue so I enjoyed it very much..... very funny as well, 9 out of 10 my only complaint would be I wanted to see the Basterds in more scenes of them causing ruckus for the Nazis, pretty much only one scene in the forest, so basically more scenes of them ambushing and killing Nazis and doing various cool shit leading up to their final mission in the theatre.... if the movie had that, it would have gotten a perfect 10 in my books. |
Great movie. PWND District 9 |

I think that's what most people were expecting when they saw the previews on tv. I was dissapointed when... Spoiler! I really enjoyed the acting and character of Hans. He definitely stole the show. Spoiler! |
Hans should be up for an Oscar for that performance, IMO |
eli roth buffed up big time for this movie and hugo is awesome!!!! |
the bar scene was amazingly done and perfectly executed, great movie |
Going to watch it tomorrow evening. My hype for the movie at first was mediocre but after hearing all your great reviews it seems like this movie is a must watch! |

btw anyone know where i can find a nice Hans Landa pic? |
Great movie, hilarious at times and kept me interested the whole way. QT really has guts doing some stuff no other directors would even consider doing! |

This movie is again.. sorta overly hyped so when I saw it I guess I had WAY too high expectations for it and was so I was somewhat disappointed. There was lots of good dialogue and for sure the bar scene was killer funny Spoiler! Ps: Did anyone else have the HUGE urge to grab some pie with cream + milk after the movie?? my friends and I all went to Fraser and 49th to grab some from that 24 hrs place lol |

Spoiler! And I think everyone craved it. My friend and I did for sure too. |
[QUOTE=SiR_vfung;6568902]I have to disagree.. I still think Star Trek tops all the movies so far this summer. This movie is again.. sorta overly hyped so when I saw it I guess I had WAY too high expectations for it and was so I was somewhat disappointed. =/QUOTE] how can you have high expectations after the kill bill series and deathproof? both mediocre at best |
^From reading this thread =(. I loved Pulp Fiction though |
ahh i see, i think all the rave was warranted, i was blown away and it's been years since i had such a great reaction to a film (probably see close to 900 flicks to date) my expectations before all the releases and reviews were to check out the ratings reviews first, pay to see the movie anyways, if it chokes, ill never pay for a QT movie again |
it was definately entertaining ~ fun watch long ass movie yet kinda made you want more of it in some ways ~ so thumbs up at first didn't really like the sudden change with hans but ... read what was said above and thought about it ~ guess it kinda makes sense so again ... good movie (y) |
Fantastic movie. Love the ending. |
imo, the movie is good because it is so god damn random. It makes sense too! Spoiler! |
^ building his character i would asume |
I was hoping this would be the movie that would bring me around to Tarantino movies but I ended up liking everything but the Tarantino bits. Brad Pitt (Lt. Aldo Raine) and Christopher Waltz (Col Hanz Landa) did some great work but ultimately the I couldn't get around the Tarantino BS. Almost every scene is pretty much 80% Bullshitting around in witty banter with only 20% relevance to anything whatsoever; and in totality, unfortunately the whole movie was built on this premise. Still a good watch though from the work of the actors, if you can get past the 2 hrs worth of useless banter and enjoy the rest of the 45 minutes. |
i actually thought the banter was almost too mature for QT at first, it was too smart and direct but then again QT has been working on this movie for the longest time, and i appreciate his passion and effort, it sure paid off this movie was suppose to take place in Japanese occupied China but obviously a Nazi movie is more marketable if you cant enjoy some Tarantino banter, i would honestly suggest not to bother with another Tarantino flick again, it's almost 100% guaranteed 70% banter, 15% action, 15% plot |
