Tzu Chi Foundation is helping Typhoon Morakot Victims

Okay so I found an organization that's helping out the victims in Taiwan. I just popped by today and talked with the folks over there and gave my donation.

If anyone wants to help out too here's their contact information

you donate it to Tzu Chi, Tzu Chi donates it to the Red Cross in Taiwan, Red Cross pays local businesses to help those victims.

I wonder how much your money will actually go to the victims or actually help them.

If I were you, I would just write a cheque to Red Cross in Taiwan

Tzu Chi have their own aid workers i thought, always see their members on the news working giving shit out

Tzu Chi to me seems the most credible organization to donate to, to help the victims of Typhoon Morakot. But then again that's my opinion. I don't know if what you claim is what you know for a fact or if you're just speculating. I already gave in my donation and gave what I can. If you like the Red Cross, by all means go donate to the Red Cross.

I read a lot of update on the Typhoon aftermath donation, so far I have never heard of
Tzu Chi taking part of the rescue and voluntary jobs (of course I know they are credible
non-profit org).

I just don't hope only a fraction of people's donation money goes to the victim.

Only 20% of total donations have to be donated to victims. :) That's why I got sorta skeptical of donating to victims of different causes and disasters.

I found some videos.

as much as i feel for those people, i even donated at the tzu chi desk... but fuck after seen the news report that some of the victims were throwing away their free foods because they are tied of it and complaining that they should eat at restaurants. i hope the flood water had covered their heads.

They were at Crystal Mall today.

Tzu Chi is a buddist non-profit organization that generally has their own volunteers..it's pretty safe to assume they wont try to pocket your charitable donations.

Uh,

so based off a video where one guy threw away aide food makes you hope for suffering amongst the victims?

How do you know he didn't just lose his family and had zero apetite cause he's probably feeling like shit?

Uh,
does this look like one person to you? and i don't think their attitude has
has anything to do with losing their family, only the food they got. if you read
correctly i said some, of course not all of them.

miss_crayon 08-23-2009 05:10 PM
