Retarded vancouver traffic

On a nice sunny sunday I try to go from oak and king ed to trout lake.
First king ed to main street on is closed.
Then the hipster idiots close the main street between 16th and 12th
On the way back trying to avoid the hipster idiots I get stuck in one lane on broadway between cambie and oak construction.

There has GOT to be a website somewhere that can post daily traffic closures?
http://vancouver.ca/engsvcs/streets/roadwork/
The only one i found is for roadwork and it's not very accurate broadway was not listed nor was the hippyfest on main street.
Maybe we can start a thread where people just update construction zones in vancouver?

IMO the city of vancouver should be responsible for this seeing as they are the ones giving out the road closure/work permits.

the traffic is getting ridiculous. Closing the streets for these car free days is a nice idea but hell for traffic

Death2Theft 08-23-2009 05:48 PM

Wow i thought my original traffic link sucked this one is way worse.

Richmond is pretty much the same if not better than a few months ago thanks to canada line construction finishing up, still construction around though...

Just came back from seattle this morning and found that drivers down there are all wimps, nothing like LA or even here

tofu1413 08-23-2009 10:41 PM

richmond was just clogged anywhere close to city centre..

aberdeen, parker area is the worst.

Pt20 08-23-2009 11:15 PM

Just wait until Olypmics.. Driving down Main will be like driving down Robson :stupid:

AzNightmare 08-23-2009 11:32 PM

I totally know how you feel. I got stuck on Hastings going to Chinatown. Then got fked going southbound on Main by the hippies.

ah i see, well traffic for westmin/ no3 will still be terrible i believe since they fucked up the road so bad that it does not make sense anymore

orange7 08-25-2009 06:05 AM

traffic in GuangZhou is 20 times worst. You guys in Vancouver have it easy, even in vancouver's traffic jams.

hk20000 08-25-2009 07:05 AM

No.3 road is livable now because there are actually people who take their commute off the road.

But we'll have to see how everything goes after the repairs are done to the surface.

Death2Theft 08-25-2009 08:12 AM

Well least the roadwork by broadway btwn cambie/oak is cleared now.
