^ Of course it did, the thing's gutless. Go with a Jetta TDI if you want to save on gas. |
But it's not satisfying driving a diesel (fuel wise), you don't feel like you're saving gas :( The feeling of driving on pure electric is amazing, and you'll never know until you actually drive one, I want a Volt BAD!!! Lol the reason we have the camry hybrid is cause Benz ran out of service courtesy cars, so rented us a camry instead, The GL320cdi's airmatic suspension broke... I was/am a diesel bandwagoner still, and i like it, but there just isn't enough choice in this market (30k) it's pretty much just the Jetta, and i don't like that car at all, don't like the style or size, and it's unrefined |
also think about what happens to the price of diesel gas if suddenly the car market is flooded with diesel cars... |
Well technically there is already a high demand for diesel cause a lot of trucks/commercial vehicles which we have a lot of use it, but yeah, i'm still waiting for the right affordable diesel car, The only appeal to the Jetta TDI which is practically the only thing not too huge and less than 50k with a diesel engine, It's just not that great a car if you ignore the diesel engine. I do like the DSG though |
i absolutely hate the camry hybrid to the guts, drove friends car for couple days and i fucking hate it. WHen you have 2-3 adult passengers or some luggage to the airport, the noisey 4 banger will keep on firing it up, making it quite loud. THe tranny feels like shit, its like 2 speed. first speed just cruising, 2nd u will have to floor it to accerlate. There is no 4000 rpm , no half throttle. Its either no go, or 100% pedal to the metal. Feels gutless, for around $35g, i rather have the V6 268hp camery. Now the good thing about is in the city it pretty much = to drivin a civic around in town. Thats how good the fuel efficiency is. and no trunk space - 1 GS400h is the way to go, V6 + hybrid = decent power. 4 banger with a electric motor is just weak towing that heavy 1500kg shell. |

And the different concept styles look sooo different. Not to mention the price tag is around 40k. |
Really? I like the back, except its a little tall |

I think you should change your driving habits, just look at taxi drivers with their 1.5L prius's, they do fine picking up people at the airport etc. There is definitely half throttle, I have no idea what you mean, if you keep the instant fuel economy at about 10L/100km thats basically a medium throttle, If its at or above 30L/100km thats full on, and if its in the Green zone that'd be low throttle, I guess you just didn't manage to get it in the green of below 15L/100km... |
If you want better handling, there has got to be some TRD or TOM's suspension/chassis upgrades by now. |
LOL just read your sig, did you get any efficiency gains with those upgrades? If i bought a camry hybrid I'd seriously consider getting rid of the wheels though, and upgrading to possibly 19s, But then i'm scared of a significant fuel economy decrease due to unsprung weight, and knowing the cheapo that i am, wouldn't go for something extremely lightweight... |

You'd be right 400h was the RX, but i think the new RX has gone 450 as well, not a bad car IMO, lexus' pricing is pretty competitive with the new RX |

Bigger, heavier wheels will definitely impact fuel economy negatively, but by much. |
^lol trashes it!?!?!? you spend too much time on the Prius/hybrid forums... |
