Don't know about rental, but

Quote from elsewhere:
Nurburgring - $22 euro for a lap and more laps you buy the cheaper it gets. So, if you buy 25 laps, i think you are averging out 16 euros per lap

cdizzle_996 08-25-2009 05:35 PM

lol, 1 lap would be good. 16 laps, you'll be there forev.

Went there last spring/summer, had a blast. Renting a car from companies like Budget/Hertz/Sixt is a bad idea because they specifically says no circuit driving (although the 'ring is considered a one-way toll road). They have spotters at the 'ring and they will report back. Apparently rental cars have a specific plate number or alphabet order. If you really want to drive it, I recommend renting a track-ready cars around the area. This way, you and the car will be covered incase of an accident. If you want any more info PM me.

as 'insertname' mentioned; my friend rented a caged audi tt with slicks for a couple days at the ring and it is hard to make him stop talking about it. Really does sound like an amazing experience.

is it a lot more expensive to rent track-ready cars?

Vancouver240sx 08-26-2009 12:40 PM

I am sure it is more expensive than getting a rental near by, however, it sounds worth it to me. Doing the ring in under 9 minutes would be fun (my friend did it in 8mins 50 I believe).
