FS: 1991 MR2 Turbo w/ mods This is going to be a little long so you can skip down to the details and price if you don't want to know the history. I'm not sure if I really want to sell this car or not, but if there is some interest I may sell it. If not, I'll probably turn it into a show car. History A few months ago I wanted to get a new car, so I am now driving an '09 WRX STi. I thought I would keep my MR2 and work on it over the next few years... but after driving my STi for a couple months, there's really no point in me keeping the MR2 to drive. There are a few issues that will need to be dealt with so I've dropped the price considerably. I paid $14K for the car in 2003 and I've put over $15K into the car. I looked at about 8 different MR2 turbos in 2003 when I was looking. I brought a mechanic and a body guy with me. I knew the engine was crap when I bought this car my body guy said it had the least previous damage of any of the cars we looked and that was important to me. It was only in 1 rear end accident. Anyways, needless to say the head gasket blew within a few months so I took the car off the road to work on it and found major problems in the engine. So in 2006 I got an engine and tranny with supposedly 80K on them installed. Engine ran great, but the gas tank had rust in it from sitting so long. I had the tank removed and cleaned out because the car was hesitating sometimes at WOT which was really annoying. Car ran great for 2 years but there was rust in the fuel filter at the last change and the car is starting to hesitate once in awhile at WOT again. Current issues with car: Gas tank needs to be removed and cleaned of rust.. I would suggest getting it coated to prevent rust from forming again. Suspension squeaks on big speed bumps. The exhaust rattles (annoying) but car passed air care without problems. *If there is serious interest with a good enough offer I will get the tank removed and coated, it needs to be done eventually anyways. Reason I haven't done it yet is because I live downtown Van, the car is in Richmond, and it's not being driven, so its hasn't been neccesary. I'll can also get the squeak lubricated and the rattling exhaust fixed at the same time. Seats are original and have some tears so you'll probably want to replace them eventually. There are some cracks in the paint on the front bumper, a small dent right by where the drivers side scoop sits. There is very minimal rust. These pics were taken when the drivers side scoop wasn't on the car and before the suspension and rotors were installed. Car has 165,000 km on it. I've put about 15,000 km since the engine and tranny were installed (I live in downtown Vancouver so don't have to drive much).
