alarm stuck in Passive Mode... how do i disable it?

hey, i've got a Nustart NUAS 1000 alarm on my truck, randomly the other day while i was driving the alarm beeped, which i found weird, the doors didnt lock or anything... anyways, now everytime i close the doors, they lock on their own after 30 seconds... almost locked the truck with my keys inside it a couple of times... anyways, i read the manual which says to just press the unlock and the trunk button to disable passive mode, but that doesnt work... it doesnt do anything... is there any way to reset the alarm all together? i tried disconnecting the battery and stepping on the brake pedal for 10 seconds to completely drain the power, but that didnt do anything either, it still locks on its own... please help its really annoying

Push both of those buttons for 'half' a second... literally half a second, at this point the siren and park lights should flash twice to indicate that this feature has been turned off.
