TSX front speaker replacements Looking to replace the front speakers of a TSX (2005). Read good reviews of the Alpine Type S. Also did some research on other brands and currently have it narrowed to 3 models. Looking for feedback (good and bad) on the 3 choices. They are meant as replacements only and running off the stock amp. 1. Alpine SPS-600C 2. Phoenix Gold RSD 65CS 3. Polk Audio DB6501 The PA set has an incredibly high sensitivity at 92 db/W vs. 88 db/W for the other 2. So I am kind of leaning that way. Thanks in advance for your feedback. |
All great choices, but does the vehicle have a BOSE system in it? If so then you may be unsatisfied with the result. The existing speakers are most likely 2ohm and the aftermarket ones are 4ohm. Damage won't result but they will play quieter. I'm sure someone jump in and confirm or expand on this. |

Thanks for the input catalin and organism donor. The 1st gen TSX does not have a Bose system, just Pioneer head unit with "cheap" pioneer paper cone speakers. Will have to pay you guys a visit soon at Soundsgood to hear the Polks. |
I stand corrected.. You mentioned amplifier srv777, thats why I thought BOSE. |
