Some guy selling in the buy and sell section for pretty cheap so thought maybe i can play around with it. But guess not anymore, don't want to risk getting a ticket/VI.

I think it is legal as long as it is covered by a opaque cover.

buy it and hook it up under your bed...it'll look way cooler

When uncovered by an opaque cover they are unauthiorized lights and illegal. When covered with an opaque cover they are off road lights, and legal. Div 4 of the regs.

I can assume covered means "no light" visible ,not just unable to see bulb/tube etc...

LenovoTurbo 09-07-2009 03:12 PM

Okay. and i already said im not going to do it.

zulutango 09-07-2009 07:19 PM

": exhibiting opacity : blocking the passage of radiant energy and especially light"

you know what the definition of a cover is. Simple tralslation...if, when you turn the lights on you can see ANY LIGHT AT ALL..the cover is NOT opaque. If you can NOT see any light at all, then you have an opaque cover and are legal.

ya.. we know, but the rest of us want to keep on discussing about this matter. If you really want to put an end to this thread, you can always get a mod to delete this thread.

But in case someone else does a search ,its always best to cover all aspects, although they'll probably start their own thread because nobody uses the search function.

I know what you meant, just clearing it up for those who would argue that their body kit hides the actual bulb/tube.

zulutango 09-07-2009 08:09 PM

As you did, I also was clearing it up for those who would argue that their body kit hides the actual bulb/tube. It could, if it went all the way to the ground and perfectly sealed with every varying road surface >:) ...and monkeys could fly out of my butt...yahh!/ Sorry, watched Waynes World and overdosed on Stan Mikata's Donuts.

yvrnycracer 09-09-2009 03:15 PM

its illegal... and they look awful...

zulutango 09-10-2009 05:39 AM
